Joyful Mind
Zen Community
We are a lay Zen practice community open to the public. We welcome all who are drawn to a simple Zen meditation practice regardless of experience, faith, identity, ability or affiliation.
“Take the backward step and turn the light inward” “Be enlightened by all things.” (Zen Master Dogen)
Our emphasis is on Zazen (sitting meditation), a practice that can awaken us to the realization of our true heart-mind, and to the wisdom and compassion that is our human birthright.
We meet weekly for Zazen, walking meditation, dharma talks, community sharing, and teacher instruction. We offer residential and non-residential retreats.
